Each episode left me more exhausted, anxious, and less like myself. I wasn’t just tired; I was on edge, teary, and snapping at the smallest things. I felt like I’d lost who I was, and it affected my relationships and my own sense of self.

This was compounded by weight gain from earlier infertility treatments, and at 37, I found myself trying to lose weight for the first time in my life. After years of being steady at 118 pounds, I was now pushing 140, and at 5’1”, I was considered “overweight” by the BMI chart. Frustrated and desperate, I did what so many of us do: I turned to the internet, hoping for answers. But instead of clarity, I found an overwhelming maze of conflicting advice, pills, potions, and fad diets.

After countless failed attempts to feel better, I finally turned to my doctor, hoping he’d take me seriously. But after pouring out my story, he dismissed me with a casual, “It’s just a phase. Nothing to worry about—you’ll get through it.” And with that, he walked out. I was devastated, feeling dismissed and alone.

Desperate for someone who understood, I found a health questionnaire online that asked about my lifestyle, stress, diet, and sleep habits—things my doctor hadn’t asked about. I filled it out, hopeful for a real answer, and left my phone number. Ten minutes later, my phone rang, and a compassionate nurse listened as I told her everything. She offered reassurance and understanding, and for the first time in months, I felt truly heard. She explained that my experience wasn’t unusual, that I wasn’t alone, and that I could take back control of my health.

That moment sparked something in me.
