Meet Denise

Hi, I'm Denise. Your Menopause Mentor.

Truth teller. Hormone translator. And the person on the other end of the questionnaire I wish I'd had — the one who takes your symptoms seriously and helps you understand your body well enough to trust it again.

Denise Stegall

Not too long ago, I was the woman who looked like she had it all together — a great marriage, work I loved, a life I'd worked hard to build — and I was falling apart at 2 a.m., four times a night, drenched in sweat and wondering who I'd become.

I wasn't just tired. I was on edge, teary, and snapping at the smallest things. I didn't recognize myself, and it was leaking into my marriage, my work, my sense of humor about anything.

What I didn't know yet was that I was in perimenopause — and that perimenopause can start a decade before your period ever changes, which is exactly why none of it made sense at the time.

Around the same time, I was dealing with weight gain left over from infertility treatments. At 37, for the first time in my life, I was trying to lose weight. After years steady at 118 pounds, I was pushing 140, and at 5'1", the BMI chart had officially decided I was "overweight." (The chart and I still don't agree on that one.)

Frustrated and a little desperate, I did what most of us do: I turned to the internet. What I found wasn't clarity — it was a maze of conflicting advice, pills, potions, and fad diets, all promising to fix me.

Eventually I worked up the courage to bring it all to my doctor. I told him everything. He listened, then said, "It's just a phase. Nothing to worry about — you'll get through it," and walked out. I sat there feeling dismissed, and more alone than when I'd walked in.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. It's one of the most common things I hear from women I work with now — some version of being told to wait it out.

Not long after, I found a health questionnaire online — one that actually asked about my lifestyle, stress, diet, and sleep. Things my doctor never asked. I filled it out, left my number, and ten minutes later a compassionate nurse called and just… listened. She told me what I was experiencing wasn't unusual, that I wasn't alone, and that I could take back some control here.

That phone call changed the direction of my life.

I never forgot what it felt like to finally be asked the right questions. Years later, that's exactly what became the Hormone Clarity Tool — the resource I wish someone had handed me at 2 a.m., built so other women don't have to stumble onto it by accident the way I did.

It's why I became a health coach, and eventually a menopause mentor: to be the person on the other end of that questionnaire for other women — the one who takes your symptoms seriously, explains what's actually happening in your body, and helps you understand it well enough to make your own decisions again, instead of handing you another plan to follow blindly.

That's meant nearly two decades since — as a certified health coach, certified nutritionist, and functional nutrition practitioner — turning what I learned the hard way into something other women don't have to learn alone.

I'm not going to pretend I have it all figured out or that I've never eaten an entire sleeve of crackers standing over the sink at 9 p.m. wondering if that counted as dinner. I have the science. I also have the humor and humility that come from having lived every bit of this myself.

My Philosophy

Understand your body. Reclaim yourself. Thrive with confidence.

The problem was never menopause. For me, it was uncertainty — and it can be over for you too. If you're ready to trade confusion for clarity, and start trusting your body again instead of fighting it, let's talk. Together, we'll build the path forward — one that's actually yours.
